1 / 1What this day is like
Five private tour days let you move through several versions of mainland Belize without changing your hotel base every night. This sample plan starts north of Belize City, follows the New River, reaches western Mayan country and its caves, and ends with native wildlife and city history at an easier pace. It suits first-time visitors who want breadth, but it is still a serious schedule with long drives and active days.
Day 1 — Altun Ha and Community Baboon Sanctuary. Begin with the plazas and temples of Altun Ha, then visit the community conservation landscape associated with Belize’s black howler monkeys. The guide separates the site history from the wildlife stories, and sightings at the sanctuary remain natural rather than guaranteed.
Day 2 — Lamanai and the New River. Travel north and continue by river boat to the archaeological reserve. The boat journey, tropical forest, Mayan temples, Spanish church remains, and later sugar-mill history make this more than a simple ruins stop.
Day 3 — Xunantunich and cave tubing. Cross the Mopan River by hand-cranked ferry for a guided visit to Xunantunich, then change into water-ready gear for a river-cave float. Expect uneven surfaces, optional temple steps, a forest walk, and water activity.
Day 4 — Actun Tunichil Muknal. ATM is the most physically demanding day: a jungle approach, stream crossings, swimming, wet cave movement, and strict preservation rules. Cameras and phones are not allowed inside. If the activity does not fit your group, we recommend a safer substitute rather than hiding the difficulty.
Day 5 — Belize Zoo and Belize City. Finish with Belize-native wildlife in naturalistic habitats and a guided look at the country’s former capital. This lighter final day is deliberate after the western routes and ATM Cave.
You reserve and pay for the hotel separately. Private Belize Adventure coordinates the confirmed activities, daily pickup and return, guides, and transport. Before the quote is finalized, send dates, hotel, group size, children’s ages, mobility, water comfort, and any rest-day preference. The tour order can change for safety, operating conditions, or better routing, but changes are discussed before payment.

Frequently asked questions
Does this package include five hotel nights?
No. The package covers the confirmed tour activities and daily tour arrangements. You reserve and pay for your hotel separately.
Do all five days have to run consecutively?
The sample plan is consecutive, but we can discuss a rest day when your travel schedule allows.
Can ATM Cave be replaced?
Yes. If ATM is unavailable or unsuitable, we can recommend a safer available alternative and revise the quote.
Can this start from Placencia or Hopkins?
A southern Belize version requires different tour choices. Send the exact hotel so we can design practical routes instead of using the Belize City sample unchanged.
How is the package price confirmed?
We calculate the written quote from dates, pickup base, group size, ages, selected tours, and operating requirements.
